From plant to plank
We do things with bamboo that others can’t
Solid Moso bamboo shows a clean, luminous grain and takes a finish beautifully. It is the foundation of every Greenington piece — and it starts in a forest that is never cut down.
Mature in five years
Moso is one of the largest and fastest-growing bamboo species on Earth — it can put on close to a metre in a single day. It reaches full maturity in under five years, where the hardwoods it replaces take decades, and it regenerates on its own after harvest. No replanting.
Harvested by hand, roots intact
Each culm is individually selected by the local farmer and cut by hand. The root system stays in the ground and sends up new shoots the following year, so the forest is never clear-cut.
Steam, pressure and heat
Strips milled from the culm are steamed to caramelize the natural sugars — that is where our warm Caramelized tone comes from — then laminated into solid stock and panels. Our Exotic material goes further: fine strands are pressed under heat in a four-storey hydraulic mould into panels far denser than the original stalk.
Nothing is wasted
100% of the culm is used, and even the sawdust fires the dry kilns and the press.

Built for understated elegance — and for the long run
A sustainable piece of furniture has to be two things at once: beautiful enough to keep, and strong enough to be kept. Greenington designs both in from the start.
Solid throughout
Greenington furniture is 100% solid Moso bamboo. Frames, tops, drawer fronts — the material you see is the material the piece is made of, not a veneer over something lesser.
Finishes that show the grain
Caramelized, Amber, Wheat, Sable, Caviar and Black Walnut on the classic collections, with two-tone Amber/Caviar and Caviar/Wheat pieces and Ruby and Onyx on Park Avenue; Exotic and Exotic Tiger on the strand-woven pieces. Every finish lets the grain of the bamboo show through.

Greenington products are made in ISO certified factories and tested by a world leading certified lab. We follow strict international standard guidelines and cut no corners — dressers and chests meet the STURDY Act with interlocking drawer systems.
